Dorothée Henry
1st Grade (Teacher)

Dorothée was born in Germany, her mother is German and her father is French. Raised in a multicultural family environment Dorothée and her family moved around in Germany, France (Doubs), Morocco, and back to Eastern France where she had lived for 15 years before coming to Minnesota. Dorothée studied Sciences and Geology at the University of Nancy, then pedagogy to become a teacher in 2003 when she obtained her teaching preschool and elementary license. After internships in an English School in Hull, and Belgium School in Anvers, she came to the French Academy in 2008. It is her second year as a teacher.

 

 

Fabienne Dubois
1st Grade (Intern)

Fabienne est originaire de Paris. Elle a obtenu une License en traduction (anglais et allemand) en 2005. Elle a passe deux ans dans des programmes d’échange : un an en Floride en 2004-2005 et un an en Allemagne 2005-2006. Ces expériences a l’étranger lui ont tellement plu qu’elle a décidé de continuer en allant en Espagne et au Pérou, pour apprendre l’espagnol alors qu’elle préparait le DAFLE, qu’elle obtenu en 2008. Elle est très heureuse d’avoir rejoint la French Academy et d’être de nouveau aux Etats-Unis.

 

 

Carole Quantin
2nd and 3rd Grades (Teacher)

Carole comes from Chartres. She studied in Orléans, and obtained a Master Didactique des Langues et Nouvelles Technologies (Master in Langages and New Technologies), as well as a Licence Langues, Littérature et Civilisations Etrangères (License in Literature and Foreign Civilizations). She taught French as a foreign language to 3 to 5 year old kids at the Alliance Française of Les Sables d'Olonnes, France. She has spent 9 months in Belfast, Northern Ireland, as an Assistant Language Professor. She has been working at the French Academy for 2 years as an assistant teacher and now as a teacher.

 

 

Caroline Séquin
2nd and 3rd Grades (Intern)

Caroline comes from Nancy, in the North-Eastern part of France. She earned a Bachelor Degree in English in France and then came to the US in 2008 to participate in a study abroad program at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She liked her experience so much that she decided to stay for another year; she is now an Amity intern at the French academy and is also finishing her Masters in English studies in the meantime.

 

 

Julie Guitard
4th and 5th Grades (Teacher)

Julie comes from the South West of France. She graduated in 2001 with a Master's Degree in English and American literature (University Toulouse-le-Mirail, France). In 2005, she graduated with a Master's Degree in Teaching French as a Foreign Language (University Toulouse-le-Mirail, France). Julie has worked in England, teaching French in a girls' school and in a mixed school in Dartford, Kent (grades 6-12). She has also worked as a language assistant in college. She first came to Minnesota in 2005 where she worked in kindergarten in a French Immersion School. She then joined the French Academy team in 2006 and taught 3rd, 4th & 5th Grade.

 

 

Ambre Crim
English Teacher

Ambre is a native Minnesotan, from Stillwater. She speaks fluent French, since she studied for a year at the Faculté de Lettres in Aix-en-Provence in 1996-1997, and taught English in Paris from 1999-2001. She also speaks Spanish. Ambre is the K-5 English Language Arts teacher. She also teaches ELL (English Language Learners) to our non-native English speakers. This is her first year at the French Academy, and her eleventh year teaching. She has a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and has a current Minnesota teaching license.
